Toronto – Day 3

Well, third and final day of the shoot and of course we’re all a bit sad to be parting ways but happy that we’re just about done and had yet another fantastic day. Today was Ruth’s turn and she had two models Daniella and Jackie. These techniques are going to be real winners since they address common everyday salon challenges and produce results everyone will be envying. Great dinner last night where we were able to catch up with Product Club’s educator from Toronto – Lisa and yes for those of you wondering Mary celebrated her birthday again (sixth time this year) even though she was warned not too!

It’s day two in Toronto and the shooting continues… today we had Laurie working her magic on two beautiful models… just stunning results. These techniques are going to open up so many possibilities for your brunette salon clients. Gorgeous, sexy hair! Also Adrienne and Adam shot today for our bonus DVD that will be available with The Art of Highlighting Collection. This DVD will contain great tips and tricks and fresh ideas for styling with foil… you read it right styling with foil…FUN stuff. Check back tomorrow for our final day of shooting when Ruth takes center stage.

Product Club North of the Border!

Several members of the Product Club team are in Toronto shooting the next series of our technical haircoloring DVDs. Getting here wasn’t easy – Melissa and Mary spent several hours in NJ at the airport and today Laurie called saying there was a dent in her plane – how does that happen?! Anyway, we thought we’d share with you some of the glamour of behind the scenes from day one – check back tomorrow for more Adam, Adrienne and Laurie! Watch for The Art of Highlighting Collection which will premiere January 2011.

The Best Class!

I just wanted to take a few and write a bit about the amazing day I spent with my new friends in Omaha at the Peels Theater. This was the best class ever! The group was so talented and eager to learn it made the class fly! We had the chance to share two techniques that were adapted from the techniques that Adrienne did in her iF

oil in color dvd. (Adrienne, they are pretty sweet by the way )
I have to give it up for the students, their eagerness to learn and try some new things was great, so refreshing. Not only did we knock out a couple of new techs together, but we got to share lots of “little” tips that make for amazing haircolor. I wish all of our on the road events were so sweet, the Peels theater is an amazing venue. It was also easy to get from airport to hotel, I cant really complain. Although I think we need bigger beds in the hotels. My mannequins and hair tools took up most of the room. Maybe a suite next time.

I want to say a BIG thanks to everyone at Peels that helped with the set up and making my life easy; Lindsey and Erin especially, thanks again. And lastly, I want to thank all the attendees for their eagerness and energy. It made for a great day! Here are

If you haven’t taken a Product Club Class yet, we really encourage you to give it a try. The classes offer much more than just great new techniques that will help you build your color business. I don’t know how it happened, but this morning my first client took me forever! I was flat lighting and I think the fact that I love her influenced the amount of foils in her hair. Way too many. I changed the foil color when I upped the volume of her developer in her lightener and we laughed that she looked like a strawberry. So even though I was already late and my next (also awesome) client was here I went all out and made her the delicious berry that she is. Ridiculous but fun! Happy summer…

Wine ,Epiphanies and NEW JERSEY

So, this Monday I was asked to teach a Beyond Basic Foiling Class in Union New Jersey with one of our distributors; Emiliani.

So when I called my “contact person” to check the count of the class, and he said there will only be 6 students, there is always a bittersweet feeling with this. On one hand , you start to feel like ” I suck, everyone hates me”

And on the other hand you feel like “Ok, easier for me to get to everyone and that way I can even throw in some extra material to see if it is worth throwing in future classes. Needless to say on Sunday night while in my nightgown and aglass of wine in hand, I had an idea to intermix 2 techniques on one head to show them how you can easily do this in the salon with the right education. Welllll, it was a success the students were great and found it very beneficial. Thank you New Jersey! ; )

Breast Cancer Awareness anyone??

Today, Breast Cancer Awareness is everywhere and for a good reason!! Every month in October, Product Club breaks out our light pink/silver Pop-Up Foil and our pink and silver ribbon foil that is embossed and we go at it trying to sell this because we make a donation to the Susan G. Komen Fund for our foil!!! How great is that! This year, I was approached to come up with a technique and a name using a breast cancer survivor as model. I am so passionate about this cause, there was no way I could say no! So, about a month ago, I came up with a highlighting technique and a catchy name to go with it. Yesterday, Patrick McIvor and I along with my breast cancer survivor model (Debbie, who is actually my boyfriend’s mom) and my makeup artist, Dez shot our very own DVD that will be going on all the Breast Cancer Awareness Foil!!! Can you believe that?!?! I am over the moon exciting and can’t wait to hear the feedback on the technique.
